Liberty marks 4th of July with parade, concert

The little bit of rain that fell didn’t dampen the celebration of our nation’s birthday in downtown Liberty, which was a memorable and lively festival.

People came in droves to the Liberty City Hall after 3 p.m., lining up for free snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy. The heat was a bit stifling. Many sought the shade, while parents got their children ready for the kiddie parade, which would lead the larger parade at 4:30.
