  • Free meals offered to children this summer

    Casey County Board of Education is participating in the summer food service program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
    Meals will be served Monday-Friday June 6-July 29 with the exception of July 4-8 at:
    Casey County High School, 1841 E. Ky. 70.
    Liberty Elementary School, 75 College St.
    Liberty Care Center, 616 Wallace Wilkinson Blvd. South.

  • CCYC goes to Washington

    From Feb. 1- 4, six delegates from the Casey County Middle and High Schools represented Casey County’s fight against drugs in our nation’s capitol. For five days, Casey County’s Youth Coalition, represented by Dalton Summers, Dakota Hoskins, Jordan Clements, Delaney Sowders, Taylor Beard and Presley Woodrum, attended workshops, met with legislators, and networked with other coalitions across the country in an effort to learn new ways to fight an issue that continues to grow in the country, commonwealth, and community.

  • Wildcat Webcast a hit at Liberty Elementary

     “Hi, I’m Julia, and this is Wildcat Webcast.”

    As Liberty Elementary second grader Julia King began her class’s weekly webcast, she and her classmates, Bryson Wesley and Chris Mendez, beamed from ear to ear. 

    While they read aloud a news broadcast from a teleprompter, it was obvious they were enjoying themselves.

  • Screening shows 51 percent of state’s kindergarteners not prepared

    The glass can either be half empty or half full, depending on how it’s perceived – and the same can be said for Kentucky kindergartners, half of which were prepared to start kindergarten in fall of 2014, and half of which were not.
    Based on the results found in a statewide readiness screening, 51 percent of Kentucky students were not prepared to start Kindergarten last fall.
