Unemployment climbs 1 percent

-A A +A
By Zach Johnson

After months of decreasing unemployment numbers in Casey County and Kentucky, that trend has stopped after June’s numbers were recently released.

The Kentucky Center for Statistics data for June showed that unemployment in Kentucky is now at 5 percent compared to 4.2 percent in May. However that number is still below where it was at one year ago in June 2017, when it was at 5.4 percent.

While Casey County’s unemployment sets at 4.9 percent after being at 4.2 percent in May, but that number is still barely above May of 2017’s five percent unemployment.
