A fire that damaged a house in Liberty Sunday night apparently began in or around a heater.

Liberty firefighters arrived at a house belonging to John Moore at 348 Carmicle St. about 7 p.m. and found fire coming out of a crawl space, according to Liberty Fire Chief Donald Wilson.

Wilson said that firefighters entered the crawl space and quickly extinguished the fire.

It was not known who lived in the home and no one was there when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters were on the scene about two hours and no injuries were reported, Wilson said.
