Cattleman pitch new event to tourism

-A A +A
By Charlie VanLeuven

Brian Carman, member of the Casey County Cattleman Association, said that a new commercial bred heifer sale at the Central Kentucky Ag/Expo center in Liberty would draw hundreds of people to the county.

He asked the Liberty Tourism and Convention Commission Dec. 14 to consider helping foot the bill for panels and pens for up to 150 animals. The price would be approximately $82,000.

Carman said a bred heifer sale would save area cattleman approximately $200 per animal, which could then be spent in the county.
