Casey County residents now have a place to go when they need to escape from the stresses of a fast-paced world – Ambrosia Massage and Wellness Center.
Located at 483 North Wallace Wilkinson Boulevard in Liberty, Ambrosia offers a variety of body-mind wellness activities as well as designed treatment plans to meet the needs of each client.
With three massage therapists on site, Ambrosia is prepared to assess and treat clients with a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep-tissue, Shiatsu, Reiki, Vedic Thai-Yoga, prenatal, hot stone, couple’s  massages and more. Mondays are “Massage Mondays” at a rate of $45 for one hour.
In addition, Ambrosia offers free aromatherapy for every massage, upon request of the client.
Off-site massage services are also available for groups, with rates of $1 per minute and 10-15 minute massages per person.
Sarah Cheatham, massage therapist and owner of Ambrosia, said although they do offer relaxation massage, the main focus is treatment therapy.
“We’re a little more focused on treating people in pain and teaching them how to eliminate the problem altogether,” Cheatham said. “We do posture assessments,  stretching and home exercises and try to correct the problem and work on the muscles that need to be treated. ”
Ambrosia features several wellness classes including Shanti Yoga, Sunrise Yoga, cardio-kickboxing, AmFit, Tai Chi, Aikido, meditation, and even a personal defense one-day workshop that will be offered on Dec. 4.
“Right now our meditation class is once a month but I would like to get to a point where we can do it weekly,” Cheatham said.
The meditation class, Cheatham said, is geared towards teaching people how to meditate.
“I teach different types of meditation,” she said. “Many people don’t realize there are many more ways to meditate than using just one type. I teach people to use the meditation that works best for them. It’s amazing how many benefits that you get from daily, and even weekly, meditation.”
As you walk through the doors of Ambrosia, you will find several items for sale including yoga mats and equipment, essential oils, skin care products, and more.
Not only can you relax at Ambrosia Massage and Wellness Center, but next door to the center is soon to be the home of a new business, Ambrosia Fitness, where residents will be able to improve their physical health as well.
“It is going to be a cross-training fitness studio with more tactical fitness equipment and exercise,” Cheatham said. “We will offer several fitness classes, with a personal trainer on site.”
Ambrosia Fitness is set to open Jan. 1, 2015 – just in time for New Year’s resolutions.
Before the new year rolls in, Ambrosia has planned a Christmas event for those who would like to check out the facility and products offered.
The Merry Market event is planned for Saturday, Dec. 6 from 12 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to explore featured vendors and enter raffles for the chance to win door prizes.
