Jury deliberating in Allen trial

After four days in Casey Circuit Court, a jury of eight men and four women is deciding the fate of a Dunnville woman accused of driving her car through the Dairy Mart convenience store more than a year ago.

Fire destroys building

A Windsor structure was destroyed Monday evening after flames engulfed the empty building, located on Ky. 80 near the Casey/Russell county line.
No one was injured in the fire and no one was residing there or storing things in the building, authorities say. Firefighters worked for nearly two-and-a-half hours to extinguish the blaze and to protect nearby homes and vehicles.


Family of woman who died in wreck files suit

The administratrix of the estate of a woman killed in a motorcycle accident last year has filed a civil suit in Casey Circuit Court, seeking damages from the driver and owner of the bike.
Gina Horn, representing the estate of Jessica Horn, filed the lawsuit March 14 through her attorney, Debra H. Lambert of Mt. Vernon.
According to the complaint, Jessica Horn was a passenger on a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Bobby D. Summers, 26, of 2596 Dry Ridge Road, Liberty, on March 27, 2007.


Man already serving time gets another year

A Casey County man already serving time on previous sentences had another year added after being sentenced in Casey Circuit Court March 24.
Timothy Lee Withers, 41, of 570 Singleton Drive, Liberty, was sentenced to one year on charges of tampering with physical evidence and receiving stolen property over $300. The charges stem from a break-in at Poplar Springs Baptist Church sometime between Sept. 20-23, 2007 in which a 50-inch Phillips television was taken.
