“As of today, there have been 51,640 man hours on the job and no safety violations or near misses,” Deacon said, adding there is an average of 75 men on the site each day.

Jail budget tops $3 million

The Casey County Detention Center expects to end the 2008 fiscal year about $300,000 in the black, according to Judge-Executive Ronald Wright.
Jailer Tommy Miller submitted the jail's 2008-09 fiscal year budget to the court on April 7 for magistrates' consideration. Wright said the magistrates should take the document home, look it over, and a budget for the jail will be adopted in June along with the county budget.
