County's FY '08 budget down by $1.8 million

By Donna Carman
Editor

The county's new budget for 2007-08 is down from last year, but Judge-Executive Ronald Wright said that is nothing to be alarmed about.
The county's projected $6.6 million budget is less than the current budget of $8.4 million, but the discrepancy of about $1.8 million is state grants.
"Last year's budget had state grants for the college, the park, and the ag center," Wright explained.

Medical helicopters transport two

Medical helicopters were called in to transport two accident victims to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington following separate accidents.
According to Deputy Kevin Roberts, Rose Wilson, 84, of 1051 Byrd Ridge Road, Liberty, was airlifted to the Lexington hospital following a 9:15 a.m. accident Sunday that occurred on Strong Branch Road.
