It's been nearly a year and a half since Sandy Harris died. And her family has just
recently learned that it was a gruesome death which has been ruled as a homicide.
Harris' family is now offering a $10,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who killed the young woman.
Frances Harris and her granddaughter were taking a walk on a mild winter day on the farm when they found her daughter's remains in a wooded area off Bastin Creek Road on Dec. 27, 2005. Ten months later, on Oct. 31, 2006, a man hauling gravel found a skull in Bastin Creek. It was determined to be that of Sandra Jeanette Harris.

The recent spike in gas prices can be explained with grade school economics, authorities say.
A simple case of limited supply and high demand has sent gas prices soaring, AAA spokesperson Lilla Mason said.
Beginning just short of $3 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline at Casey County stations last week, prices hit $3.09 on Friday for the same fuel, and then rose abruptly to $3.15 in Liberty on Saturday. The prices came back down to $3.09 on Sunday and remained there at press time yesterday.

A miscommunication last week caused quite a stir as things quickly went south at a Lake Liberty outing following Earth Day activities at Casey County High School.
Roger Weddle, local Department of Fish and Wildlife officer, said he had gone to the lake around 1 p.m. on May 14 to eat his lunch, when he came upon a large group of students at the lake. Several were in boats, without life jackets, while others were in the water swimming or wading, and still others sitting around on the banks.
