City residents along KY 70 East and U.S. 127 South are a step closer to getting sewer services as bids were opened Friday on the $3.5 million project.
Representatives from six firms were on hand at City Hall to witness the bids, which ranged from $1.4 million to $3.1 million. Submitting the low bid was Weddle Enterprising Inc. of Somerset.
"If the low bidder is still willing to proceed, that's who we'll use," Mayor Steve Sweeney said on Monday.
