Police investigating possible

drug-related deaths

The Kentucky State Police and the Casey County Sheriff's Office are investigating four deaths that have occurred in the past three weeks that may be drug-related.
The KSP became involved on Thursday when officers were called to the Casey County Hospital shortly after 9 a.m. regarding a possible drug overdose. However, before police arrived, Coroner Tommy Clark had already pronounced Mark Anthony Sharp dead.

94 extra jail beds could

mean $1M in revenue

Tightening up on space at the Casey County Detention Center is about to pay off by making room for more inmates. Not only will the added beds bring more revenue to the county, but it will also help insure a timely pay-off on the construction costs of the facility.

No agents at the office, but it's time to

make new extension budget

In a normal year, members of the Casey County Extension District Board would be in the midst of preparing the next fiscal year's budget about now. But this has been anything but a normal year.
The board never received approval of its 2005-06 budget from the University of Kentucky, and a memorandum of agreement was never signed between the two agencies.
