Money is being sought to help a new business establish in Liberty that will also offer new jobs.
The City of Liberty, Liberty Economic Development Corporation and the Economic Development Authority of Liberty/Casey County are partners in a grant application to help boost local economic growth.
Josh Ayoroa, Executive Director of the EDA, said in a Thursday meeting that the city will be applying for an $800,000 Community Development Block Grant for Chieftain Steel. The funding is handled by the Kentucky Governor's Office for Local Development and is used to help fund new businesses.
