The mood was somber Friday night as Buddy Hamilton and five of his eight brothers and sisters stood by and watched their parents' store go up in flames.
Hamilton's Store, located at the junction of KY 837 and Calvary Ridge Road in the Mt. Olive community, was burned by members of five Casey County volunteer fire departments. And while it was a sad time, Hamilton said the family knew it was time for it to go.
"That store raised all of us. It sent us to school, fed us, and took care of us," Hamilton said. "It meant a lot to us, but time passes on."
