Relay for Life raises $67,500

Cpl. Klinger of M*A*S*H fame was in the house Friday night. In fact, he/she was all over the house.
Klinger (a/k/a Debbie Vincent) led the Lab Rats Relay for Life team in their usual good time as the platinum-producing team racked up $8,802 to donate to the 9th annual Casey County Relay for Life.
'It's crazy ... they're crazy, but everybody has a good time," said Agatha Clark, shaking her head as she watched her multi-costumed daughter prance around the luminaria-lined track at the Central Kentucky AG/EXPO Center.

Tennessee man killed in head-on collision

A two-vehicle accident 10 miles north of Liberty on U.S. 127 near the junction of KY 906 took the
life of a Tennessee man and injured four others on May 16.
According to a report by Trooper Toby Young, Junior Port Friend, 74, of Crossville, Tenn. was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:33 p.m. accident by Casey County Coroner Tommy Clark.
County's 2006-07 budget up by $2M

It's that time of the year when Casey County Fiscal Court must agree on a working budget for the next fiscal year.
Magistrates heard first reading of a projected $8.4 million budget on May 15. Judge-Executive Ronald Wright pointed out the general and jail funds account for nearly $7 million - $3.5 million for the general fund and nearly $3.4 million for the jail.
