Stargle alleges wrongful termination

A former employee of Liberty's Pamida department store has filed suit, alleging that he was wrongfully terminated.
Anthony Stargle, who was an operations team leader at the business from April 23, 2004 to Aug. 31, 2005, filed the civil lawsuit March 27 in Casey Circuit Court. He is represented by Robert L. Bertram, an attorney with Bertram & Wilson in Jamestown.

Tanning bed bill inspired by CCHS

Those under the age of 17 will soon have to have written permission from their
parents or guardians to get in a tanning bed.
House Bill 151, which limits tanning bed use among minors, was signed into law by Governor Ernie Fletcher on Thursday. It goes into effect July 1.
Gov. Fletcher will be in Liberty on April 17 for a ceremonial bill signing with the Casey County High School student who spearheaded the campaign to place guidelines for minors upon the tanning bed industry.
New Machines, precinct locations for Primary

The primary election is less than six weeks away, and there are some changes for voters to consider.
Casey County Court Clerk Eva Miller said poll workers for the upcoming election have been trained on the county's new disability compliant voting machines, as required by the Help America Vote Act, a new federal law. Training is overseen by the Kentucky Disabilities Coalition Inc.
However, standard training required prior to any election will be provided to all poll workers by Harp Enterprises of Lexington at 4 p.m. April 18 at Gateway Park.
