Casey County residents will soon have an opportunity to get rid of their discarded appliances at no cost.

A Casey County man and a teenager were indicted on rape charges Monday by a Casey County grand jury.
Brandon C. McGlone, 21, and Robin Foy Scott II, 17, both of 4056 Jonathan Fork Road, were each named in indictments charging them with first-degree rape.

Feed truck wrecks, spills load

A Tri-County Feed truck loaded with six tons of feed wrecked just outside of Yosemite Wednesday afternoon, spilling its load and shutting down KY 70 for about two hours. Ben Eldridge, 52, of Somerset, told Deputy Freeman Luttrell that he swerved to miss a squirrel in the road and lost control. The truck, which was eastbound, dropped off the shoulder. Eldridge brought it back on, but the bed broke loose and caused the vehicle to overturn, landing on its side. Eldridge was not injured in the 3:45 p.m. accident. Luttrell said several people in the area helped clean up the spill, including a neighbor who lent the use of his tractor.
