Family's home burns

Benefit planned for Martins

A Casey County couple stood by late Friday afternoon and watched as flames consumed their home – taking with it a lifetime of memories.
The home of Jimmy and Sharon Martin at 3328 KY 1547 burned to the ground around 5:30 p.m. According to Clementsville Fire Chief Dale Wethington, the cause of the fire remains unknown, but it is believed to have started in the kitchen area.

Grand jury indicts man who allegedly

tried to rob M&M Market at Windsor

The man who allegedly pulled a knife on a clerk at M&M Market in Windsor in a botched robbery attempt has been indicted by a Casey County grand jury.
Harold G. Richards, 36, of Jamestown is charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the Feb. 5 incident. According to the indictment, Richards used or threatened the immediate use of physical force against Vern McQueary, an employee of the store.
