Gosser may return to school

Tonia Gosser is most likely back in a classroom at Casey County Middle School today.
The four-year language arts teacher, who was fired from her position four months ago, was reinstated by a recommendation of a three-member tribunal which heard testimony in the case Feb. 14-16.
However, the tribunal unanimously concluded that Gosser is guilty of conduct unbecoming a teacher, which was the reason she was terminated by Superintendent Linda Hatter.

Blazes destroy trailer; damage house, woods

Firefighters were kept busy over a three-day period with two structure fires and several field and woods fires.
A Monday afternoon fire destroyed a mobile home at 2875 Jonathan Fork Road owned by Glen DeHart. Before the flames could be extinguished a wooded area behind the home caught fire.
According to Southeast Casey County Fire Chief Jamey Maupin, the cause of the 4:15 p.m. blaze is unknown. He said no one was at home at the time of the fire.
State's 6-year road plan includes
5 projects for Casey County

Beginning this year, through 2008, Casey County will see nearly $22 million in road improvements, which includes replacing two bridges in the county.
The Kentucky Transporta-tion Cabinet recently released its six-year highway plan with five of the projects earmarked for Casey County. One is scheduled to be completed this year.
Judge-Executive Ronald Wright said studies of roads in specific areas of the county have been done by the state over the past several years. He is confident projects that have been budgeted for the county were found to be top priority for the safety of motorists.
