Comer files to run for governor

Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer, on the campaign trail for the past six months, made it official on Thursday when he filed paperwork in Frankfort to run for governor on the Republican ticket.
“I’m running for the right reason. I’m running because I think I can make a difference,” Comer said in an interview on Jan. 20 in Liberty.
The Monroe County/Tompkinsville native and farmer said the Commonwealth faces a number of challenges that the incoming governor will have to tackle beginning in 2016.
