Heed the warning — anyone planning on flying under the radar on U.S. 127 through Liberty is going to get a speeding citation from a Liberty police officer, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Acting on a comment made by Liberty City Councilman Jim Ellison during the Jan. 11 council meeting about speeders on the bypass, Liberty police wasted little time in blue lighting, and ticketing, violators.
“We clocked some drivers going 30 mph over the limit, that’s 70 in a 40 mph zone,” said Liberty Police Chief Steven Garrett.
