If a penny is .75 inches in diameter, how many would it take to lay out a quarter of a mile?
Liberty Elementary School students from K-6 learned the answer to that question and a lot more about pennies and money during a special event on Thursday at the school.
The event, “A Quarter Mile of Pennies,” was a collaborative effort between Monticello Banking Company personnel and teachers at LES.
MBC President Stacey Beeler said that LES curriculum coach Betty Wesley contacted her about the possibility of a week-long math with money project.
