Apostolic Lighthouse

Wednesday night Bro. Danny Warren's message was "One God, One Name" from Colossians 2:8-10. Attendance was 16. Bro. Eric Miller started Sunday morning with "What Is The Real You" from Romans 8:5-9, 13-16. Bro Danny's message was "I'm Yours Lord, Heart, Mind and Soul" from Hebrews 4:12. Attendance was 30. Sunday night Bro. Eric started with "Set Me Free" from Isaiah 61:1. Bro. Danny's message was "Don't Give up To Soon" from Ruth 1:19-22. Attendance was 31.

Wednesday night bible study had 23 in attendance. Ice Cream Social Oct. 30 evening service. Birthday’s Makaylee Reed. Anniversary Neil and Pam Reed. Evening service had 36 in attendance with 15 in prayer circle. Special music was by Rosalie Graham. Bro. Bud’s message, “Resist the Devil,” was taken from James 4:17.

First Baptist

Attendance for worship was76.  Marcenia had the children's message, asking them if they would take vitamins, or put on a Super Hero suit If they needed extra strength.  She said what we need to do is pray to God for strength and power.  He will provide. The Gideon speaker, Mr. Tim Darland, from Harrodsburg, reported on the work of the Gideon's all over the world, stating that 7 billion New Testaments in 240 languages were given out last year. At 2:00pm, the first of 23 groups started through Judgement House, with the last one going at 8:32pm.  Judgement House will continue on Friday & Saturday, the 14th & 15th. Added to the prayer list was the family of Betty Bernard.



Grove Ridge

Grove Ridge Baptist Church morning worship had 14 with Bro. Mark Yaden message from Psalm 51:1-14 Evening service had with Bro. Mark with his message from16 Roman 8:18-21. Celebrating Anniversaries was Bobby and Nora McFarland, Mark and Angel Yaden. Celebrating Birthday was Louise Falconbury. Upcoming events: Homecoming October 23rd at 11:00 AM Guest speaker will be former pastor Bro. Choe Sergent. Dinner will follow the service. Voices of Praise will be singing afterwards.

Hwy. 78 Full Gospel Deliverance Church

Sunday night service there was 55 in attendance. Bro. Ronnie Dobson brought forth the message, “Believe and Faith,” from the book of Psalms 139:1-20, 23. Sis. Jessica Johnson sand a special song, “ It’s all right,”. The childrens church sand a special, “We’re going to ride with Jesus Christ”. Saturday night service there was 29 in attendance. Bro. Roland Johnson opened the service with prayer and prayer requests. Bro. Ronnie’s message “Blessings and curses,” from Deuteronomy. Special singing was from Sis Kathy and Sis. Amanda, “Never run’s day,”.  Tuesday night’s service there was 24 in attendance Sis. Amanda Johnson brought forth the word, Theres more where that came from,” from 1 Kings 17. Our prayer requests is for Tanner Stragell, Negia Pendleton, Kayla Carrier, Jessica Johnson, Shirley Hayes, Matt Blevins, Misty Propes.




Latter-day Saints

Robin Mardis conducted the monthly Fast and Testimony meeting.  The invocations was given by Terrill Ware.  The sacrament was administered by Carl Howard, Nathan Howard, Andrew Mercer, Lucas Clifton and Lucas Foley. Testimonies were given by Robin Mardis, Shirley Lane, Zachary de Robles, Nathaniel de Robles, Vivian Hochstrasser, Carl Howard, Boots Foley, Cheryl Crenshaw, Ron de Robles, Terrill Ware, Larry Crenshaw, Scott Raley, Brenda Sanders, and Mike Ison. The benediction was given by Boots Foley. The Sunday School lesson was "Endure Faithfully in Times of Trial and Temptation."





Brin Powell and Becky Baldock provided special music on Sunday morning.  Bro. Wendell Cook talked about the Gideon ministry. No evening service due to a funeral service. The county wide revival continues through Friday.

Attendance for Sunday school was 31 with 62 for worship service. We had a Gideon speaker, Curtis Grant from Adair Co. Special singing by the choir. Anna Pittman, visiting with us, celebrated a birthday. We recognized Bro. Ronnie for Pastor Appreciation Week. Evening service had 32 present. Bro. Ronnie's message, Speak The Things of God First", reading from Matt. 6:33-34. Special music by Bro. Ronnie, Fred, Steve and Mac. Fred and Susan Haste came forward to move their membership. Mt. Olive

Attendance at Mt. Olive Christian Church was 79 for Sunday School. The lesson, "Builder of the House”, was from Hebrews 3:1-6; Matthew 7:24-29.  Worship service had 141. The message, “It’s All about Thinking”, was from Philippians 4:4-9. There were 75 for the evening service. The message, “It’s All about Christ”, was from Colossians 1:15-23. Wednesday at 7pm will be Bible Study. We will be studying from Psalm 119:33-64. Sunday will be our 184th Homecoming. The youth will conduct the morning service followed by dinner on the grounds. During the afternoon service our guest speaker will be Ron Blair, the great-great-nephew of Colonel Frank Wolford of the 1st Kentucky Calvary, which was founded on the grounds of Mt. Olive. Birthdays were Jacob Strunk, Lynn Floyd, Robin Cravens, Brody McGowan, Kylie Cosner, Larina Godbey and Saundra Sears. Anniversaries were Sherrill & Judy Wall and Paul Hebert & Heidi Rice. Additional prayer request: Clara McQueen, Sheila Smith, Jerry Caldwell, and Johnny Watson.


Mt. Pleasant

Sunday attendance at Mt Pleasant Church was 34. The oldest person present was Howard Bell and the youngest was Raegyn Lynn. Mariana Urbina celebrated her birthday this week. Special music was performed by Karey Sellers, Gary Bell, Randal Davis and Shirley Land. We had a special guest speaker Bro. Brad Marcum from Gideons International. We took up a love offering for the Gideons.

Old Time Independent

Old Time Independent Baptist Church had 20 in attendance for Sunday school. Bro. Ricky Rodgers gave the Devotion “What a sure word we have to hold on to,” from 2 Peter 1:19-21. His Sunday school lesson, “Dedication to God,” came from Psalm 30:1-5. Morning worship had 30 in attendance. Bro. Ricky Rodgers lesson, “Doing what’s right in their own eyes,” from Proverbs 21-1-2. Evening service had 19 in attendance. Bro. Ricky’s lesson was, “Always knowing the path you’re on,” from Proverbs 3:1-6.

Poplar Springs

Poplar Springs Baptist Church had 35 for Sunday school and 50 for worship. David L. Johnson’s devotional was from Acts 27. Bro. Johnny Maupin’s children’s sermon from John 14:1 to always remember how much God loves us. Special music was by the choir and Marvetta Russell. A Gideon speaker Bro. Kelley gave the history of the writing and printing of the Bible and the work of his organization. Ian Davis Memorial Scholarship 5k will be Oct. 15. Poplar Springs will host the Associational Annual Meeting on Oct. 22.

Rich Hill

The Sunday morning devotional reading, Psalm 111, was read by Tim Buis. The Sunday morning Bible study was 1 Timothy 1:17-2:8.  Bro. Lynville Hatter’s Sunday night message was found in Isaiah 5:20. We will be hosting an autumn youth day on Saturday October 15th from 1:00-5:30.  Fall In Love With Jesus will be our theme.  Everyone is welcome.

Monday, October 17, is the Memorial of St. Ignatius of Antioch. Tuesday, October 18, is the Feast of St Luke the Evangelist.


Shady Grove

Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church, Wednesday evening bible study was attended by 9 and the discussion was about Genesis 5: 1-32. The Sunday morning devotional reading was from John 3: 1-21 by Priscilla Adams.  Sunday school attendance was 15 and the discussion was led by Archie Adams.  Scripture studied was Acts 16: 1-15, "Timothy chose, Pau's vision and Lydia converted". The Sunday worship hour attendance was 34 and the message was delivered by Pastor Richie Curtis.  He read from John 1: 17-36, "Jesus came to save the world; look above". This Sunday evening worship attendance was 12 and the message was delivered by Pastor Richie Curtis.  He read from 1 John 2: 1-29, "This is the promise".


St. Bernard

Attendance was 77.  Scripture readings were:  2 Kings 5:14-17; Psalm 98:1,2-3,3-4; 2 Timothy 1:8-13; and Luke 17:11-19. Homily/Reflection was: Determined to do good. Next Sunday Scriptures will be: Exodus 17:8-13; Psalm 121:1-2,3-4,5-6,7-8; 2 Timothy 3:14 - 4:2; and Luke 18:1-8. Saturday, October 15, is the Memorial of St. Theresa of Avila. Thomas Ridge

Wed night Oct 5th Bro. Hershel taught from John 6:1-15.  Sunday morning service we welcomed a Gideon speaker and the Sunday evening service we continued our study in Romans 7:16-25. Children’s service was held in the fellowship hall with breakfast and a new unit on “The Fruit of the Spirit” with a lesson on Love.
