Bertha Eva Randolph Williams, known by most as “Peggy,” died at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. She was 81 years old.
She was born in Middleburg on April 25, 1930 and was the seventh daughter born to Ira and Maude Pike Randolph.
She was a retired school teacher and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was the author of a book of poems called, “Music of the Soul.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Williams; a daughter, Connie Sue Williams; three brothers, Sherman Ray of Cincinnati, and Ira Claude and John Glenn, both of Yosemite; four sisters, Orpha Bryant of Florida, Edna Baugh of Cincinnati, Marie Noel of Liberty and Alberta Gossett of Somerset.
Survivors include three children, Debra Williams (and Mark) Dunham, Roger (and Pam) Williams of Carrollton and Jeffery Williams of Cleves, Ohio; six grandchildren, Chad Dunham of Indianapolis, Ind., Shauna Dunham of Frankfort, Stephanie Williams and Ashley Williams Bowling, both of Cincinnati, and Jarrod Williams and Paul Williams, both of Lexington; three great-great-grandchildren, Rylee Williams, Jadah Bowling and Maddie Bowling; two sisters, Pauline Richards of Cincinnati and Myrtle Cundiff of Indiana.
Visitation took place at Bartle Funeral Home on Feb. 3 and the funeral was at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on Feb. 4.
Pallbearers were Jarrod Williams, Paul Williams, Phillip Williams, Kevin Williams, Steve Williams and Chad Dunham. Honorary pallbearers were Bennett Williams, Don Williams, Michael Boyd, Jacob Flannery and Jason Flannery.
